MARYLAND – May 22, 2024 The Maryland State Board of Elections (SBE) and the Baltimore City Board of Elections have identified the cause of discrepancies in votes reported on election night compared to the verification reporting. A total of 584 extra ballots were included on election night, impacting 10 precincts including 21-01, 21-02, 21-04, 23-03, 24-04, 16-13, 22-01, 22-02, 23-01, and 25-04. The discrepancy was a result of not uploading results from 3 ballot scanners and duplicating results from 5 precincts. Maryland’s new comprehensive data privacy law, the Maryland Online Data Privacy Act, was recently signed into law by Governor Moore. This brings the total number of state “comprehensive” privacy laws to 18, five of which have been passed in 2024. Maryland’s law will take effect in 2025 along with several others. SALISBURY, Md – Maryland State Police are investigating a fatal two-vehicle accident that took place early Sunday morning. Around 3:00 a.m., troopers responded to reports of a head on collision southbound on Route 13, just south of St. Luke’s road.
