The Spotlight team has shed light on baby food contamination, highlighting the lack of regulations by Congress and the FDA on heavy metal levels, which pose a risk to children’s neurological development. Starting January 2026, the law will necessitate a QR code on labels displaying testing outcomes. Consumers can…

Several U.S. service members are currently embroiled in a legal conflict with Maryland in federal court. The issue arose when their wages were seized, and they lost access to their bank accounts for several months. A federal judge determined that the state had infringed upon their rights. What makes this situation even more unusual is that none of the service members have any ties to Maryland. One of the affected individuals, Army Sgt. Oscar Davines Jr., found himself in financial turmoil while stationed in Turkey near the Syrian border. He was startled to discover that his wages were being garnished…
By Jan Greenhawk April 2, 2024 It’s recent news that several current and former NCAA female athletes are suing the NCAA for violating their Title IX rights. Title IX is that act that required schools to provide women equal opportunity to compete in NCAA sports. This was in response to the debacle of Lia Thomas, a biological man, competing as a woman in the 2022 NCAA Swimming Championships. Thomas, who had been a very low ranked male NCAA swimmer, was able to compete against women and win the 500-meter event. In an event in which he tied for fifth with Riley…

MARYLAND – March 29, 2024 – Delmarva Parent Teacher Coalition School districts across Maryland use “Restorative Practices,” a term derived from Restorative Justice Practices. As a result of political word semantics, “Justice” was removed to conceal the true intent behind the term to make it sound reasonably acceptable and palatable within a sugar coating. Its methodology is that and a bag of chips, falling short of a happily ever after ending in its implementation. Lou Taylor, Superintendent of Worcester County Public Schools made a statement embracing Restorative Practices, which we have also heard in verbatim statements from other superintendents across Maryland.…
