Homeless Encampment Costs Prince George's County Condo Residents Their Homes

Maryland House Bill 0432 and Senate Bill 0463 Will Prohibit Authorities From Forbidding Homeless Encampments/Vagrancy Such As The Situation In PG County

Hyattsville, Maryland residents of the Marylander Condominiums have been telling Prince George’s County Officials for months that a homeless encampment right outside their doors is not only dangerous, but it is ruining their homes.

It has finally cost those residents a place to live.

The residents of the Marylander Condos, advertised as a “Private community” have been complaining about homeless not only living outside their doors but also invading the condominiums hallways to do drugs, go to the bathroom, and threaten residents. Here’s a description of the situation from the Washington Free Beacon:

‘We’re Not Criminalizing the Unhoused’: How a Homeless Encampment and Drug Dealers Are Destroying a Local Condominium Complex and Turning Its Residents’ Lives Upside Down

As you can see, the PG Officials refuse to help the victims of this onslaught of homeless drug dealers, addicts, and mentally ill people. This is not surprising in a state where Maryland lawmakers have two bills, House Bill 0432 and Senate Bill 0463, which will prevent local governments from prohibiting homeless encampments in their jurisdictions. Here are the bills, which have both been heard:

Both bills are currently in discussion. HB 432 is moving on to third reader. Concerned citizens should contact their State Delegates and State Senators.

Why was this invasion allowed? It’s because PG County staff, under the direction of County Executive Aisha Braveboy, used time and money to go live in hotels during the latest snowstorm and on a trip to Vegas earlier this Fall to bid on bringing a $200 million dollar entertainment sphere to their county instead of addressing the issues negatively impacting county residents. In fact, it seemed it was a choice they happily made. Imagine what will happen if these two bills pass.

Here is PG County Executive Braveboy defending expenditure of $43,0000 for her staff to cluster in hotel rooms during the recent debilitating snow emergency. Watch as one citizen explains what happened:

But they didn’t have time to address issues like the homeless encampment destroying people’s homes, homes those residents paid $1600 a month for.

Here is the story about the “sphere:”

Debt Ridden Maryland Plans To Build A “Sphere Entertainment Venue” At National Harbor – The Easton Gazette

As is the custom under Democrat rule in Maryland, the county took the side of the invaders in the condominium issue and made victims out of the rent paying, tax paying residents of the condos. Judges have issued an eviction order and residents. Why? Because the homeless have vandalized and destroyed the heating system in the condos, causing not only lack of heat but multiple water leaks in the building. The management company says they cannot get financing to replace the damaged infrastructure. From WJLA ABC:

No heat all winter: Hyattsville condo community braces for worst in ‘unfit’ buildings

And from DC Now:

Marylander Condominiums tenants face eviction amid ongoing heat and water issues

County government? Crickets.

Once again, Maryland, under the Moore Administration and the local, Democrat run governments, decides on the side of the people who violate the law, rather than the victims. Is this a preview of what other jurisdictions can expect in the future?

Do the Dems running Maryland give a damn about the taxpaying residents of the state?

It’s not looking good. After all, the Governor had to know about the huge sewage leak into the Potomac River since the middle of January. This leak not only endangers residents who live near the Potomac, but wildlife and sensitive eco systems of the river. Yet, Moore didn’t say anything about it until Trump called him out about on Truth Social the other day. And he hasn’t offered a solution. In fact, he recently denied that human waste is still flowing.

He also hasn’t made a serious effort to help Maryland residents with their devastating power bills beyond a pathetic $40 rebate on bills that are sometimes in the thousands.

He is also very busy trying to make sure Republicans and Independents in the state are redistricted out of having a voice by getting rid of the only Republican voice Maryland has in D.C.

And, Wes is still pouting about being left out of dinner at the White House while he reviews new flag designs for Maryland. Perhaps he is even re-writing his autobiography to include even MORE fantastic lies.

Did we mention he’s running for President?

Anything but doing his job.

But hey, he’s the only Black Governor in the United States. So, as he said, he doesn’t “Give a f**k.”

So, in the future, many residents may face the same situation that these Prince George’s citizens are facing; leaving their homes because of terrible state and local management.

Coming soon to a town near you if these bills pass.

No wonder they call the Maryland General Assembly the “Maryland General Insane Asylum.”
