
Maryland State Police arrest man on suspicion of sexually soliciting a minor. Distribution of child pornography in Worcester County

(Berlin, MD) – Maryland State Police arrested a man Wednesday in Worcester County on charges of soliciting sexual acts from a minor via a smartphone app.
Alexander Crum, 29, of Berlin, Maryland, is charged with sexual solicitation of a minor, solicitation of child pornography, distribution of child pornography, knowingly permitting sexual solicitation of a minor, and aggravating the condition of a child. He was transported to the Worcester County Detention Center and is being held without bail.
On Wednesday, the Maryland State Police Eastern District Criminal Enforcement Division and the Berlin Barracks, with assistance from the Federal Bureau of Investigation (FBI) and the U.S. Marshals Service, arrested Crum at his workplace in Berlin, Maryland. This arrest was made following an investigation by the CyberTipline report from the National Center on Missing and Exploited Children regarding financial transactions related to child sexual abuse material.
According to a preliminary investigation, a search warrant was executed at Mr. Crum’s residence and investigators seized multiple electronic devices for forensic analysis. The investigation remains active and ongoing.
