Moore's Creation Of State Gerrymandering Advisory Committee Shows Dems' Desire For A One Party State

Maryland Democrats want it all.

They want all your money, your property, your decision making for your children. All of it. They want to control all corporations. They want it all. They want to control ALL your life decisions.

If you don’t believe that, take a good look at what Governor Wes Moore and the Maryland Democrats have done to create a one-party state. In a state where out of 8 congressional districts the Republicans have one, the Dems want to remove that district as well and thereby get rid of Andy Harris, Maryland’s sole Republican in the US Congress.

It wasn’t always so one sided. At one point it was split 4 and 4. Then after some Democrat gerrymandering it became 6-2 in favor of Dems. Now we are down to 7 to 1 and the Dems won’t be happy until they have all the districts.

On November 5, 2025, Moore created a “Redistricting Advisory Commission” chaired by Democrat Representative Angela Alsobrooks and two more of the Governor’s appointees out of five positions. The others were former Maryland Brian Frosh, Democrat, and Cumberland Mayor Raymond Morriss, an independent who donated to Moore’s campaign TWICE.

Speaker of the Maryland House Adrienne Jones tapped Charles County Delegate Democrat CT Wilson. Senate President, Democrat Bill Ferguson, who is against redistricting, has yet to make his appointment. Regardless, it’s clear that Republicans will not be adequately represented on the committee.

Keeping track? So far we don’t see ONE true Republican, do you?

Moore professes that he doesn’t want to disenfranchise people, but many know that this is exactly what this political move is about. Senate Minority Leader Steve Hershey pointed out that the redistricting Moore is planning has nothing to do with fairness but rather with removing any Republican representation in the state. Hershey also points out that this type of partisan gerrymandering has failed in courts as late as 2021.

“ I’d like to remind Gov. Moore that five of the seven justices to the Supreme Court were appointed by Gov. Hogan. So, he might not get the outcome that he desires,” Hershey said.

Even Senate President Bill Ferguson, Democrat, is opposed to the idea, saying that doing this now could cause more damage to the Democrat party in Maryland. Ferguson said the efforts could backfire and thus give Maryland MORE Republican seats in Congress.

The prevailing opinion is that Moore is doing this to appease National Democrats as he surreptitiously runs for President and wants to curry favor with the far-left wing of the party. As usual, he forgoes his duty to the citizens of his state for his own political ambition.

Many say it is a reaction to redistricting in Texas and other red states as well as in deep blue California.

State Senator Steve Hershey summed it up best.

“This is nothing more than an attempt by Governor Moore to wipe out the entire Republican Party in Maryland and further consolidate his one-party control,” Hershey said. “And I believe it’s an insult to all Marylanders that still believe that democracy depends on competition, fairness, and a representation of all voices, not just those that agree with Gov. Moore.”
