Salisbury Mayor Randy Taylor has announced that the planned gay pride flag raising for the month of June will not take place at the government building because he believes it’s inappropriate to use city assets to promote one group over another.
Mayor Taylor stated that going forward, the City will only fly the Salisbury flag, the Maryland flag, and the American flag. On occasion, the City may also fly the POW-MIA flag.
Mayor Taylor emphasized that the only change made was the limited use of the flag on the City pole.
