Authorities in Delaware are currently investigating reports from residents of a New Castle County neighborhood who discovered that their car brake lines had been deliberately severed.
The most recent incident occurred on Sunday morning in the Commodore Estates community in Middletown, where several vehicles parked along Bakerfield Drive had their brake lines tampered with.
A similar occurrence took place in January just a mile away in the Bayberry South neighborhood, where an elderly couple discovered their brakes had been cut overnight.
Officials advise that if there is suspicion of brake damage, it is unsafe to drive the vehicle. Instead, individuals are urged to contact the authorities and seek assistance from a qualified mechanic.
