A man from Crisfield in Somerset County, Maryland, has been taken into custody by the Somerset County Sheriff’s Office on charges of abusing two minors. The arrest of 38-year-old Felipe Rodriguez took place on Tuesday, June 11th, following an investigation by the Somerset County Sheriff’s Office Criminal Investigation Division.
Rodriguez is facing multiple charges related to the alleged abuse of the two minors spanning from 2017 to June 2024, including Assault First Degree, Child Abuse First Degree causing Severe Physical Injury, Assault Second Degree for Aggravated Assault, Child Abuse Second Degree, Sex Offense Third Degree, Sex Abuse Minor involving a Continuing Course of Conduct, and Sex Abuse.
After his arrest, Rodriguez had a preliminary hearing with a District Court Commissioner before being transferred to the Somerset County Detention Center, where he is being held without bond. The Somerset County Sheriff’s Office revealed that the investigation is ongoing and they suspect the abuse occurred repeatedly over the specified time period.
