DEAL ISLAND, Maryland. – After an incident where the Superintendent of Schools in Somerset County was overheard suggesting the closure of Deal Island Elementary School, a meeting took place on Tuesday evening to address concerns from local parents. Many attendees left the meeting feeling unfulfilled, believing the superintendent’s apology lacked genuine humility and sincerity following her remarks about shutting down Deal Island School.
