College Park, Maryland – Sidney Lewis, Hannah Rank and Diamond Williams all hit home runs in the Maryland State Softball Tournament. On Sunday, they defeated Fairfield 10-2 at Maryland Softball Stadium. The game was the Terps’ third game of the weekend as host of the Maryland State Softball Tournament.

Maryland (11-14) fell behind by two runs in the first inning, but scored all 10 points without scoring. Lewis’ two-run homer in the third inning gave Maryland the lead. This was the fifth home run of her career and third of her season.

In the fourth inning, Rank and Williams hit home runs to extend the lead. Rank, a freshman, hit the first two-run home run of his career. Immediately after, Williams hit his eighth two-run homer of the season.she went He went 3-for-3 and added a double.

Courtney Witch once again showed off her dominant pitch inside the circle. She passed Monica Seifert for fifth place on Maryland’s career strikeout list.She had the highest strikeout count of the season. During his five-year career, he had 502 strikeouts against 11 batters. She is one of four players with 500 career strikeouts.

Wich pitched his 40th career complete game, giving up just one run. 1 hit. It was his sixth win of the season.

Jada McFarland had 3 hits for 4 at bats, marking the second time this tournament that she had 3 hits in one game. She hit two doubles and added two RBIs and an RBI. In the sixth inning, she drove home Megan Mikami with her RBI double, ending the game early. Mikami had 2 hits, 2 RBIs, and 1 RBI in 3 at-bats.

In the lead off, Allie Bridgeman hit a two-run homer to left-center field, giving Fairfield a 2-0 lead.
Maisie McFarlane drove Megan Mikami home with a sacrifice fly in the bottom of the inning. Tepples led 2-1.
Courtney Witch struck out five batters in a row, including two teammates.
Sidney Lewis hit a home run to center field, scoring two runs in the process. Maryland claimed a 3-2 advantage in the third.
Hannah Rank hit her first career home run, a two-run homer, in the fourth inning to take a 5-2 lead. Jada McFarland hit a double moments later to give the Terps another point. Diamond Williams also joined the long ball party and hit a two-run home run. Maryland led 8-2 in the first inning.
Wich found himself in a pinch with the bases loaded in the fifth inning, but struck out the last batter to end the inning. She recorded three strikeouts in her first inning.
In the 6th inning, Mikami hit a triple, giving them a 1-run lead. McFarland then drove home a double to end the game.

Witch struck out She struck out 11 batters in this game, increasing her career batting total to 502, passing Monica Seifert (2001-04) for fifth place on the all-time list. She became one of only four players to reach the .500 notch in their career. Next on the list is Amanda Bettker (1999-2002) with 546 career totals.
Wich ranks seventh in all-time innings pitched. She hit .516 for her career and is two innings away from passing Seifert.
the witch took her in 47th career win, tied for 5th all-time. She is one win away from overtaking Caitlin Schmeiser (2012-15) and Seifert and becoming the sole winner.
witch threw His 40th career complete game is tied for fifth all-time. He was one game away from breaking the tie with Jessica Adityes (2002-2005).
