Officials Find Bodies of 2 Missing Workers After Bridge Collapse
Authorities have recovered the bodies of two missing workers who were on the Francis Scott Key bridge at the time of its collapse, the Maryland State Police chief announced on Wednesday.
Col. Roland L. Butler Jr. stated that divers located a red pickup truck in approximately 25 feet of water just before 10 a.m. ET.
“Divers found two victims of this tragic event inside the vehicle,” Butler said.
Authorities have informed the families of the deceased workers, identified as:
– Dorlian Ronial Castillo Cabrera from Guatemala
The workers, who were repairing potholes on the bridge when it collapsed, hailed from Mexico, Guatemala, El Salvador, and Honduras, according to officials.
Butler Jr. confirmed that both men were employed by the construction company. One worker’s identification was established through a driver’s license found on him, while the other was identified using fingerprints, he noted.
The post has been updated with additional information from the press conference, which now includes the correct spelling of the victims’ names following the authorities’ clarification.
