Delaware fire officials are investigating a fire that injured two people, one of whom went into cardiac arrest and required rescue.
Firefighters responded to a burning mobile home in Georgetown, Delaware, around 4 p.m. on Saturday, March 16, and found smoke coming from the structure, according to the state fire marshal.
When crews arrived, they encountered a victim who had been pulled from the burning structure and had gone into cardiac arrest, officials said.
The person, who authorities have not provided identifying information, was successfully resuscitated and taken to a nearby hospital, where he was listed in “serious condition,” the Fire Marshal’s Office said.
Another person was also injured in the fire, but authorities said they were treated and released from the hospital.
Investigators estimate the damage caused by the fire to be about $25,000, and are still trying to determine the cause.
