WORCESTER COUNTY, Maryland. – The Worcester County Sheriff’s Office has received full funding in the county’s budget. The more than $22 million allocation includes funding for salary increases, helping the agency remain competitive with neighboring law enforcement departments in recruiting and retaining personnel.
Sheriff Crisafulli added funding to help fully train employees with less law enforcement experience to be more efficient. “Number one is to open the front door, hire qualified men and women from the side, and hire wisely the best people we can.”
“The second thing is to close the back door so that men and women with extensive knowledge of the organization don’t walk out the back door to other organizations that offer better pay.”
Crisafulli said the county’s budget reflects the commitment to public safety.
