Historic New Castle Belgian Beer Festival has been named one of the best beer festivals in the country by the USA TODAY 10Best Readers’ Choice Awards.
Beer award nominees, which include other categories such as Best Beer Bar, Best Beer City and Best Small Town Beer Scene, are nominated by industry experts and vetted by 10Best editors before being finalized. A set of nominations will be determined by public vote. .
From this process, Delaware’s historic New Castle Belgian Beer Festival earned top honors along with other festivals such as Talespin Ale Fest in Louisville, Kentucky and Kill the Lights in Knoxville, Tennessee.
The Historic Newcastle Belgian Beer Festival was first held in 2022, a collaboration showcasing the best of both historic Newcastle and newly imported Belgian beers. Held at Battery Park along the Delaware River, the festival will feature his 30 Belgian beers for the first time in Delaware.

The next Belgian Beer Festival will be held on Saturday, September 28th from 1pm to 5pm, or from noon for VIP ticket holders. Tickets go on sale July 1st, and event organizers say VIP tickets sold out quickly and the 2023 festival is completely sold out, so don’t wait to secure your spot to grab a beer. yeah. Festival guests will receive a souvenir tasting glass.
Belgian beers you can look forward to at this year’s event include Delirium, Bosteels, Gulden Drak, Bourgogne de Flandres, Valdieu, Limburgus, and more.
This award follows Dewey Beer Co. being named America’s Best Brewery Pub in the competition and First State Brewing being named one of America’s Best New Breweries in August.
