Exciting News: Home Energy Checkup and Counseling Program Open to All Delaware Residents
Energize Delaware has recently revealed that its Home Energy Checkup and Counseling program is now available to all residents of Delaware. Initially designed for low-income families, this program has expanded rapidly as Energize Delaware trains more contractors to accommodate the wider audience.
The Home Energy Checkup (HEC2) is provided free of charge and includes a one-hour visit to your home, where energy-saving products are installed, and guidance is offered on how to lower energy use and access various resources. The primary aim is to help reduce energy use, cut down on utility bills, and enhance the comfort and efficiency of homes.
“This program has been seen as a pathway to other services, helping to connect individuals with various resources,” shared Drew Slater, executive director of Energize Delaware. “An in-home HEC2 visit is a quick and straightforward method to boost energy efficiency and start saving right away. Remember, the most affordable and environmentally friendly energy is the energy we avoid wasting.”
The expanded program is effective immediately, providing an average of $240 in direct-install energy-saving measures to participants, including items like LED bulbs, efficient showerheads, outdoor lights with dusk-to-dawn sensors, pipe insulation, door sweeps, furnace filters, smart surge protectors, and more.
