What are the chances of winning the lottery?
A man from Maryland who goes by the name “Stone Cold Money” found a silver lining in his stressful work situation by purchasing lottery tickets.
Preferring to remain unidentified by any name other than “Stone Cold Money,” he shared that he visited a Giant grocery store in Glen Burnie, a Baltimore suburb, to distract himself from work-related stress by buying multiple lottery tickets.
After acquiring his tickets along with some groceries, he grabbed a bite to eat and spent his time using a lottery app to verify if any of his newly obtained tickets were winners.
While most turned out to be non-winning tickets, the very last one he checked turned out to be a lucky winner of $50,000.
His reaction upon discovering his win was pure amazement, exclaiming, “Oh my God,” with no witnesses nearby except for his wife, mother, and a friend whom he excitedly shared the news with.

“Stone Cold Money” has been employed as an IT professional for the past eight years and plans to utilize his winnings to purchase a home for his family, according to the Maryland Lottery.
In Maryland, lottery winners have the option to keep their identities confidential.
“When we interact with winners who claim their prizes at our Baltimore office, we suggest they enjoy the moment and commemorate it by posing for a photo that we can share. Nonetheless, individuals who win a prize on a Maryland Lottery draw game ticket, FAST PLAY ticket, or scratch-off ticket have the right to remain anonymous,” states the official state website.
Although “Stone Cold Money” agreed to a photo, he obscured his face with the oversized symbolic check representing his impressive win.
