Will Maryland County BOEs Follow Federal Law?

President Donald J. Trump just signed a slew of executive orders that impacts every school system in Maryland. What we are about to explain applies to all counties across the state. We decided to use Worcester County to serve as an example of what we are about to reveal. Not only do they tout being the best performing school district in the state, they have also implemented several liberal policies and practices that defy common sense. Like most counties across Maryland, they have fostered a school climate centered on Diversity, Equity, and Inclusion (DEI) that has created a hostile school environment of racial stereotyping, preference, and inequity behind the scenes of what they would otherwise portray.

In the video below, Todd Ferrante, President of the Worcester County BOE explains why males who identify as females can use a restroom based on their gender identity:

BOE Meeting November 19, 2024

That’s right, you heard it. Ferrante stated that federal law TRUMPS state and local law, and that the Board is following the Biden Administration’s orders. Farrante also stated, “Although that law could change….” Well, it did.

Will Ferrante hold true to his statement?

Let’s take a look at each executive order and what the Worcester County BOE needs to change to be in compliance with the federal regulations brought forth under the Trump Administration.

Executive Order: DEFENDING WOMEN FROM GENDER IDEOLOGY EXTREMISM AND RESTORING BIOLOGICAL TRUTH

The BOE needs to stop permitting males to enter female restrooms, locker rooms, and sports as explained in this article:

Worcester County MD Board Member Addis Corrects Disinformation From Teachers’ Union

Executive Order: ENDING RADICAL INDOCTRINATION IN K-12 SCHOOLING

The BOE needs to stop its indoctrination of racial bias, discrimination, grouping and stereotyping, including sexualization, gender-identity, and preference under its DEI programs that are integrated in their curriculum, school spirit, hiring practices, discipline policies, and procedures as revealed in these past articles:

Worcester County Board of Education Promotes Marxist Racial Indoctrination

Worcester County: Gender-Identity Indoctrination Assignment Discovered

Worcester BOE Asked to Remove Health Framework They Ironically Adopted Yet Opposed

Maryland Berlin Middle School Advertises Transgender Awareness Week

Why School “Restorative Practices” Are Destructive

There are many more orders that have been executed by the Trump Administration.

However, the State of Maryland is in a defiant wrestling match to oppose the federal government.

In an attempt to push forth DEI efforts, Maryland legislators recently submitted House Bill HB0324 and Senate Bill SB0293 to propose a law to mandate elected officials of school boards to attend anti-bias training, which is an overreach of local control. In addition, Maryland legislators issued a joint senate resolution to affirm their commitment to maintain DEI initiatives in the state.

It all comes down to what the federal dollars are worth to the BOEs, which they will otherwise risk losing if they continue down the discriminatory path of DEI.

For now, we expect all county Boards of Education across Maryland, including Worcester, to immediately follow the new federal executive order. We expect their policies and procedures to be aligned accordingly, including their actions.
