Maryland’s House of Delegates District 38A representative Charles Otto has passed. Otto represented Somerset, Wicomico, and Worcester Counties and served as Deputy Minority Whip since 2013. According to Otto’s official biography, he was born in Salisbury in 1964. He attended Washington High School in Princess Anne before attending the University of Maryland Eastern Shore and Virginia Polytechnic Institute and State University. Otto was first elected to the House of Delegates in January of 2011.

Maryland State Police are issuing a reminder to all drivers about the new speed camera fines that will be effective starting October 1, with maximum penalties now ranging from $40 to $425. This new structured penalty framework, introduced by House Bill 182, will be enforced across all speed monitoring systems in the state. A man from Maryland, who had been reported missing, was discovered deceased in a river on Monday, as stated by Salisbury Police. Officers reported that Deaquan White, aged 29, was declared missing on Saturday, September 6. His remains were located in the Wicomico River on Monday, September 8.
