We often wonder if the stories we write have any impact on what happens in society. After all, we are not part of the major news media leviathan. However, we know that change begins with small steps and that a collection of many stories from many different sources can change history. Today we saw an announcement that the camp had been canceled:

This is the page where the camp had been advertised:

It’s interesting that the Boulder Valley Health Center canceled the camp for “safety concerns.” This is code for “we were exposed, and people were horrified about what we were doing.” As for “extrapolations” about the camp’s intentions being “incorrect” we’d have to say that it was exactly the opposite as we explained in our article earlier this week:
An “X” post from Scott Shamblin who posted a video of the camp orientation was probably one of the straws that broke the sex camp’s back:
That and the rumored reports made to the local sheriff’s department.
Not sure what the “safety concerns” were that were stated in the cancelation. In our minds, the only concerns for safety were that a group of pre-teens and adolescents were going to a summer camp to learn about sex, “and so so much more” from adults; a camp where parents weren’t allowed.
Victories are sometimes hard to come by, but this feels like a win in our book.
However, this camp was open about their intent. They stated it right in the name! Other camps are not always as obvious. Parents beware!
