At the funeral of former President Jimmy Carter on Thursday, President-elect Donald Trump and ex-President Barack Obama were spotted having a surprisingly amicable chat. Despite their often contentious political histories, the two were seen laughing and conversing before the ceremony began.
In a notable interaction, Trump also greeted Mike Pence, marking their first encounter since January 2021, following the fallout from the events of January 6 that had strained their relationship.
Former President George W. Bush was present too, along with various other prominent political figures, including current President Joe Biden, who gave the eulogy. All four living former presidents attended the service for Carter, who was the longest-serving president in U.S. history. Carter, who was the 39th president from 1977 to 1981, passed away on December 29, 2024, at the remarkable age of 100.
